About Me

My photo
I would say that I am curious, vivacious, gregarious, sometimes funny, intelligent, easy going, very passionate about the things I love, caring, thoughtful, and kind. Maybe that is a little over the top, but I think you can count on me to be very honest. LOL

Sunday March 15th Spring Training 2009

What a full day! We got up early...well kinda early and drove into Phoenix! It's like 5 minutes away from our hotel. We did a quick drive through and found where our lunch reservations were....Chase Field ~ Home of the Arizona Diamond Backs. Zona does it up right with everything they do ~ especially the sunny weather! We so badly want to stop and pick oranges off the first tree we saw, to our surprise....these are not edible oranges.....dang! "Seville Oranges" Seville sour orange is the variety of sour orange traditionally used to make orange marmalade....English Style. The tree is attractive, large, and grows vigorously in Zona. The fruit is medium-large, round, with a depressed apex, and has pebbled dark orange rind. They are obviously very ripe this time of year in Zona....we peeled them.....we tasted them.........we spit them out! They are seedy, BITTER, and acidic. Thank goodness we had some clementines in the car.....ate 3 to get the bitter taste of Seville's out of my mouth.

Every state hasta' have a bell! Here we are in front of Zona's.

and some rock.....petrified if you please.

and some pricklies......don't touch... ouchy.

Off to Chase Stadium.....that is some nice hardware.

Somebody yelled ~~~ put some hip into it!
So I did!

Made of Stone!

Inside the temperature is a nice 78 degrees....when the roof is closed.

Lunch in the upper deck ~ what a treat!

This is the view I want from Lindquist!

TGI - Friday's is too much fun!

Off to a 4th ball park
Goodyear ~ Home of the Cleveland Indians

John loves to hang on the rail.

Scoreboard worth watching!

Dinner is always the next stop after the game!
On the Border was great....even better because John was with us.
We had a great visit remembering the good old days.

Lucas from the 2008 season
We were to full to eat another dinner, but wanted to spend some time with Lucas. His suggestion of BJ's was the ticket.
PIZOOKIE...................
a 'pizza-cookie', baked and served in a personal-sized circular tin. Must have
ICE CREAM On TOP!

Lucky for us we bought 1 and shared with everyone!
Did I mention 887 calories....oh don't even go there!
SWEET
Here's to another great season!
