Tasting

Tastes and Sights ~ Thursday afternoon we journeyed on over to Layton Park for an event we didn’t know has taken place for 5 years now! 

TASTE OF THE TOWN -   Restaurants from all over Layton come and share samples of their culinary skills.  Tickets are a dollar each and the price of each item is from 1 – 5 tickets. 
K wanted to take a nap before we left…but just couldn’t get his eyes to shut so off we go…….

It was a beautiful afternoon and the sights, smells, and sounds made me realize that every day I want to take time to stop, listen, look, and appreciate what’s going on around me. At any time I may stop.  Just stop and absorb my environment. Today was no exception….
Take Notice… Be curious. Catch sight of the beautiful….of course that’s shoes for me!


Peanuts…have a life of their own for K.   As soon as he saw the package his eyes were bright with imagination.   They become fireworks, airplanes, boats, food only to name a few!   His ballpark favorite every time!



Friends and family sharing some happy times..and look what friend we happened to find there!  Hello Mr. Combie!

We will definitely find our way back here another year.  

Monday Musing

What a treat this weekend was! Got to watch the “Girl” show us her basketball skills. She’s mighty good, if I do say so myself. No pictures….camera didn’t have its smarts in it! She impressed me to the point that I figure it is time to be looking for a good agent! I know she’s only 8…..but she’s got the skills!

Next adventure of the day was “early” dinner with the girls! If you get to Sonora Grill before 4:00 you can order off the lunch menu……..think we are looking to save a few pennies???? The huge chips and colorful salsas were great. You get tostada sized chips with two types of salsa - a flavorful fire roasted flavored red salsa and a very tasty cilantro flavored green salsa along with them. The ambiance of the place is fabulous and the decor is definitely ---one of a kind and gorgeous. The Sonora Grill is located in the Junction in downtown Ogden. A great place to meet up with a group of friends.

After dinner we found our way to the Egyptian to see the Sundance Film Festival ..... "Get Low"


As the film opens we see a very dramatic scene of a house burning, a man flying from the upstairs window of the home.....the scene closes and we see children throwing rocks at the home of hermit "Felix" who is the mysterious star of this film! Duvall brings the character to life with remarkable ease. I've given away just enough of the secrets of them film so that....you'll want to seek out this film when it comes to a theatre near you.

Bill Murray - the funeral director - of course has the lines to fill the theatre with laughter! He delivered as expected!

The Pool

I told him he should sell it to the Regency for a brochure photo. The kids absolutely love this place. We stayed in a smallllllllllllll 1 bedroom unit for 4 days, and still had a great time. The kids were in the pool for 2 1/2 hours Thursday, 3 hours Friday.... I stopped counting Saturday ~ Halie's eyes were finally to sore from all the chlorine. But as soon as she could blink it was "CAN WE GO SWIMMING NOW!" and we did!
