Halloween Bash: A Big Pot of Chili 🎃
Halloween at our house calls for something warm and hearty before the candy comes out! With trick-or-treaters at the door and everyone coming and going, a big pot of chili makes feeding the crowd a little easier.
This Halloween Bash chili has smoked pork shoulder, beef, plenty of beans, and colorful peppers. The baked beans add a little sweetness, while the chipotle sauce brings another touch of smoky flavor. Let it simmer slowly, and you have a pot full of comfort just waiting to be ladled into bowls.
The smoking takes some planning, but you can prepare the meat ahead of time. Serve with cornbread or tortilla chips, and let everyone add their favorite toppings.

Garlic, peeled and minced you decide how much

1 large can baked beans
2 large cans chili beans in sauce
1 small can white beans

Make the Chili
Heat the olive oil and butter in a large stockpot over medium heat. Add the celery, onion, and garlic. Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onion is translucent.
Add the green and red peppers. Cook for another 5 minutes.
Transfer to a crockpot. Stir in the baked beans, chili beans with their sauce, white beans, and tomato paste.
Cook the sausage on the stove. Add to crock pot
Cut the pork tenderloin into bite size pieces. Add to crock pot.
Cook on low until tenderloin reaches 165 degrees. Then turn to warm setting.
Set Out the Toppings
Shredded cheese, sour cream, tortilla chips, and cilantro make a simple chili bar.
A warm bowl of chili, a porch full of pumpkins, and a few little ghosts and goblins at the door… that sounds like a happy Halloween to me.
Happy Halloween from our kitchen to yours!
