We so badly want to stop and pick oranges off the first tree we saw, to our surprise....these are not edible oranges.....dang! "Seville Oranges" Seville sour orange is the variety of sour orange traditionally used to make orange marmalade....English Style. The tree is attractive, large, and grows vigorously in Zona. The fruit is medium-large, round, with a depressed apex, and has pebbled dark orange rind. They are obviously very ripe this time of year in Zona....we peeled them.....we tasted them.........we spit them out! They are seedy, BITTER, and acidic. Thank goodness we had some clementines in the car.....ate 3 to get the bitter taste of Seville's out of my mouth.
