About Me

My photo
I would say that I am curious, vivacious, gregarious, sometimes funny, intelligent, easy going, very passionate about the things I love, caring, thoughtful, and kind. Maybe that is a little over the top, but I think you can count on me to be very honest. LOL

Frontrunner

This afternoon we climbed aboard the double-decker Frontrunner bound for Ogden, Utah. It was not a typical beautiful June weather day, rainy, windy, and to cold for my liking! We did talk the gk into wearing jackets before we left. Grandpa helped the kids climb on...the doors close quickly..... you have minutes to step on.
Inside the interior is comfy, clean, and warm. They even have wireless internet connects if you are on the trip for the long haul. We just purchased a family pass for the afternoon trip...price.......$12.50.

Only 1 stop between Clearfield and Ogden.....the
Ogden Station drops you right at Union Station. Brevin loves trains....he would watch "Thomas" 24/7 if we would let him.
This picture was taken inside the museum. Everything was closed by the time we arrived, so all we were able to do was take a few pictures of the trains inside and outside of the station.
We had dinner at the Union Grill. The kids were very excited when we told them there were Ribs on the kids menu. They both completely cleaned their plates.
Oops....got Ali and Grandpa's arms in the picture.

Brevin can clean the ribs to the bone. He thought grandpa was crazy for putting the napkin around his neck and holding it together with his fork!

This old caboose is retired and stands majestically in the front courtyard of the Union Station on 25th Street in Ogden. Union Station is Utah's oldest railroad station. Don't you just wonder how many millions of people have passed through this station? When you walk the halls of the station you can almost feel the spirit of what the hustle and bustle must have been like.
Notorious crime boss Al Capone commented in the 1920s that Ogden was too wild a town for him.
The original structure of the Union Station Depot burned in 1923. Today, however, the rebuilt Union Station houses several fine museums. Ogden is now a beautiful friendly city, a place you will enjoy if you spend a few summer evenings there. We loved our trip and the kids want to know how soon we can ride Frontrunner again!

I really enjoyed riding the FrontRunner. I am always amazed by how big Halie and Brevin are. It looks like you really enjoyed your outing. Hopefully the weather gets warmer soon.

Looks like you had lots of fun. The gk are so lucky to have a grandma that loves to spend time with them and do fun things. You are a great example to me!
