Bagna Calda

Guido Buffo – from Ida Bruno Steve’s God Mother

Pronounced “banya cowda” Bagna Calda is a hot dip composed of olive oil, garlic and anchovy made for dipping raw vegetables and bread.

½ pound butter (2 sticks unsalted is best)

½ cup olive oil (optional – but so flavorful)

4-8 cloves garlic, minced

2 cans anchovies, chopped

Combine butter, oil garlic and anchovies.  Heat gently for 10 minutes – DO NOT BOIL OR BROWN

Serve hot with assortment of cold vegetables. Cabbage leaves rolled up are the very best!
