About Me
- La Dolce Vita with LeAnn
- I would say that I am curious, vivacious, gregarious, sometimes funny, intelligent, easy going, very passionate about the things I love, caring, thoughtful, and kind. Maybe that is a little over the top, but I think you can count on me to be very honest. LOL

Icicles
Clear glass spears of jagged teeth
Across the roof drip down beneath
To touch the tree with drips and drops
Until the cold comes to make them stop.
I'll break them off for swords and duels
When I'm a bit older, won't that be cool!
I'll watch them break, shatter, and crash
Better run for cover with a dash!
Right now I'd like to grab one for a taste
I'm sure there better than the mushy paste.
For now, I'll just watch them drip, drip, drip
Because no one will let me even get a grip!

2011 in a Better Way
It’s the first Monday of a New Year and I’m sitting here by the cozy fireplace grateful that we have had a beautiful and safe Holiday season. I have much to be thankful for and today it seems so fitting to look ahead to the New Year with renewed hope.
There is always so much hope about looking ahead, and it’s exciting to think that in 365 days I will be able to learn much, create something new, grow another year older…and become! It is not about making resolutions…because I never keep them…it is more about continuing on my journey hopefully in a productive and better way.
This year I have decided to choose just one word to carry with me through the year. So this year I want to learn to stop taking myself too seriously. I want to be the senior adult that I am with a child-like freshness and enthusiasm. I want to bring out the me that I often hid from others….so this year my word is going to be FUN.
Fun, as in this year I will do things that make me smile, bring joy to those around me, and add pleasure to my life….here’s my list of get started girl:
get up early just to watch a beautiful sunrise;
try a new recipe once a week…maybe more
walk the trail as often as I can
read at least 1 book each month
bake more rolls and bread
explore the place around me
plant another garden and enjoy parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
listen to music every day
order Bountiful Baskets as often as we need them.
Last but not least ~ I promise not to take myself too seriously. I will be fun, have fun, and experience fun…..

Another Year ~ Goodbye 2010
January – Sundance Film Festival has become the Cinema we love and can’t miss year after year. Nina and I stood in the frigid cold for at least an hour waiting for our number so we could return to buy the tickets. It was well worth it, because after we received our number…we got toasty warm at Karen’s on 25th street with Hot Chocolate and breakfast.
January 30th the group got to enjoy dinner and Sundance!
February - A month filled with events that will always touch my heart. I cooked, Al remodeled our family room, Time Out for Women was amazing…and Hayhurst always brings renewed life. On a very sad note we will not be going to Pine, Idaho this year. The Hayhursts have had way to many unfortunate events, that I can’t even talk about because of how sad this has made me.
March – A new beginning for our family. Ali decided it was time for another grandbaby….and we were so excited. Al finished the family room windows, new kitchen curtains after all these years, and yes a brand new stove (Thank you Lyn for putting the pressure on).
May ~ One of my goals during 2010 was to read The Book of Mormon from start to finish. I worked diligently and I'm so proud of myself (pat on own back)… I'm sure I was suppose to do this a very long time ago...like 9th Grade. One of the blessings of growing old is a new found knowledge! I can do it! I also made applesauce with the apples that came from produce group. Yes, it takes time but it tastes so much better than store packaged applesauce….I would love to make a big pot of it every week!
So, happy new year to you all, I hope 2011 is a safe, healthy and successful year for you and your families. And although 2011 is an odd year… I certainly hope it has a bit more evens in my life than 2010.
